RedBrick Pizza debuts in North Brunswick

NORTH BRUNSWICK – Got a nasty pizza addiction that you just can’t kick?

Thanks to RedBrick Pizza Kitchen Café, known for its fire-roasted gourmet pizza with hand-crafted organic dough made fresh daily, organic red sauce and premium toppings, you can feel a little less guilty the next time you dig into a slice — or five.

The chain’s newest location as of Dec. 18 at 754 Shoppes Blvd., North Brunswick — and first and only New Jersey location — is operated by Shivam J. Patel & Saad K. Farooq, South Brunswick residents and Rutgers graduates who were looking for a healthy concept to bring to their hometown.

“This is exactly the type of restaurant we would have wanted to go to when we were in school,” Farooq said. “We graduated from Rutgers and we were looking to bring something more high quality to our hometown and thought that the community would really enjoy a RedBrick Pizza.”

At RedBrick Pizza, pizzas are baked at 1,000 degrees in three minutes in open-flame brick ovens. The company’s recipes use all-natural cheeses, organic tomato sauce, a signature blend of 12 spices and hand-rolled organic dough made fresh daily with organic olive oil.

Some of their signature pizzas include the Caribbean with organic red sauce, four cheeses, pineapple, turkey ham, turkey bacon, beef salami and jerk seasoning; pesto chicken amore with basil pesto sauce, fresh mozzarella, chicken, roasted artichokes and mushrooms; and Thai chicken with four cheeses, chicken, onions, carrots, cashews and cilantro.

Pizza isn’t the only thing on the menu at RedBrick. Customers can also find items such as fresh salads, fhazanis (fire-roasted flatbread sandwiches); breadsticks; gelato and bhrazanis (fire-roasted brownies topped with gelato). There’s also a gluten-free menu.

“We liked the philosophy behind the brand and the quality menu,” said Farooq. “We also love that our customers can ‘build their own’ pizza and have it cooked on the spot in three minutes.”

The new 2,250-square-foot North Brunswick restaurant is also the debut of the chain’s new store design, which features a contemporary, streamlined look, a state-of-the-art pizza oven and comfortable seating for 46 guests with an additional eight to 10 outside in warmer weather. Customers are able to walk through the line and “build their own” pizza or order one of RedBrick’s signature pizzas.

“People today are more health conscious and want to feel good about what they are feeding themselves and their families,” said Farooq. “In a busy world, people appreciate the benefits of eating out, and food that’s affordable, healthy and quick is in high demand.”
